We know life happens and plans change - call us to transfer your field trip to another available date at no cost, subject to ticket availability. 

Adult caregivers are invited to accompany students on the field trip by registering as a chaperone-only, or by registering as a student and joining the fun!

For caregivers and children not participating in the field trip:

-Regular museum admission rates apply at the front desk for your visit to Discovery Center

-Staff will let caregivers know what time to return and pick-up your student(s)

Private Parties

Have you ever wanted an entire museum to yourself? Celebrate your birthday with an evening of play and exploration at the Discovery Center! Private After-Hours Parties include 2 hours of private access to both floors of the museum and all currently open exhibits for 40 children. Bring your own food and presents to enjoy at outdoor tables on the patio or in an indoor classroom – you choose!

All adult party-goers must assist in the supervision and the safety of their children while in the museum.

Choose from one of the available themes & activities for your guests!

• Candyland: Learn the science that goes into making delicious cotton candy!

• Creature Feature: Choose a meet-up with 5 of Discovery Center’s resident creatures OR a Safari Scavenger Hunt activity.

• Wetland Wonders: Choose a guided Wetland Walk OR Boots & Wading in Murfree Spring. Boots provided by Discovery Center. Available April - August ONLY.

• Wowie Zowie: Choose a science experiment with some enormous 'toothpaste', fit for an elephant OR a liquid nitrogen demonstration.

Party Policies:

• Discovery Center reserves the right to close any activity or exhibit for the health and safety of guests.
• Discovery Center rentals require a “Leave No Trace” policy.
• Reservations are required along with full payment.
• Glitter, confetti, and pinatas are NOT allowed.
• Free-standing or tabletop decorations are permitted. No tape, tacks, nails, staples, or other adhesives can be used to attach decorations to walls, ceilings, and doors.
• Food and drink must stay in the party room during the duration of the party. Alcohol is not permitted during Private After Hours parties.

This program is for children ages 1-6 and their caregivers to enjoy hands-on exploratory STEAM learning and play. Enjoy music and motion, stories, guided activities, and more with Discovery Center staff!
